COLLECTIONS AND EDITING POEMS
IN THE BEGINING OF THE CLASS WE GOT BACK OUR INQUIRY PROJECTS AND STARTED READING HOODS BY PAUL B. JANECZKO {IT Was a poem]. THEN JOSH STARTED READING IT AGAIN. THEN MS.NAKADA ASKED WHAT THE POEM WAS ABOUT. THE POEM WAS ABOUT A GUY NAMED SPIDER TRIED BREAKING INTO A CAR AND A KID SPOTTED THE GANG AND SPIDER ORDERED THE GUYS TO GET THE BOY, THEN THEY STARTED CHASING HIM BUT THE BOY RAN INTO A LIBARY. THEN MS.NAKADA ASKED THE CLASS WHAT THIS POEM CONTAINS ABOUT THE MAIN STEPS OF POETRY. THEN SHE GIVES THE CLASS TIME TO WRITE A POEM ON OUR OWN. WE HAVE TO HAVE 20 POEMS IN A COLLECTION DUE BY MAY 2ND. I ONLY HAVE LIKE 10 OR LIKE 12. THE CLASS WAS VERY QUITE. AKILAH IS READING HER POEM CALLLED 'NIGHTMARE' IT WAS A GOOD POEM. THEN YVETTE READ HER POEM CALLED 'TACO SHOP' IT WAS VERY GOOD. SURPRISED JOSH OR WILBERT DIDNT READ THEIRS. NOW WE READ A NEW POEM CALLED 'FOUL SHOT' BY EDWIN A. HOEY. THEN MS.NAKADA ASKS A QUESTION ABOUT WHAT THE POEM IS ABOUT. KOBE DIDNT KNOW THE ANSWER SO WE JUST DRANK HIS WATER.THE POEM WAS VERY SUSPENSE BUT THE KID MADE THE SHOT TO WIN THE GAME. THEN EVERYONE WENT TO WRITE ANOTHER POEM FOR THEIR COLLECTIONS.THE BELL RANG AND ITS TIME TO GO.

Today I read my blog and now im doing another one. After I read my blog the class took out their English notebooks to record our grades in the class. We are now doing poetry collections/revising and editing poetry in our English notebook. Ms. Nakada tells the class how to revise and edit our poems. She also shows us and example of how we will make our poem project. Karon's picking his nappy hair. Ms. Nakada tells the class to take out a piece of paper to write a poem. The bell rang so now its time for period 6.

HW: Write a poem a day!
So today we started class of by taking out a piece of notebook paper , and write Ms. Rosie. I am guessing it was another poem , because all this month is Napowrimo month. So lately we have been writing and reading poems. So right now Ms. Nakada is reading a poem to the class and asking questions about the poem. After they finished talking about the it , she made the class write their own two poems. When the class were done with their poems , she had them read the poems out loud to the whole class that they wrote, when they were done sharing their poems. Ms. Nakada read another poem called ' Wishes For Son '. When they were done Ms. Nakada told the class to write another poem. When they finished with that they read another poem but in the poem it had two people to read the poem.

Today in Ms. Nakada's class we watched a poem called ''To this Day" it was about bullying and knowing that everybody is beautiful and that you shouldn't listen to what other people say about you. Also the class is taking notes about the poem we just saw. It is really quiet in the class right now. Everybody is writing down everything they heard and saw in the poem. I can't really write that much because today is a early day as a matter of fact we get out of school early all this week. Now we putting together a poetry journal to present to class. It's the end of class so I pick Silvia to do the next blog. Peace.

Yesterday was the first day back from spring break and in the beginning of Ms. Nakada's class we took out a piece of paper to finish either our inquiry projects or reflections. Then Dedrick presented his project on hip hop and then Akilah presented on racism. We walked around and looked at projects and did ICE.

Here I am, doing the blag again because students need to complete the test and it's a minimum day.
We started with Sergio reading his blog from Wednesday and then I read mine from yesterday.
Students finished the test and then we collected Inquiry Projects.
We talked about The LA Times Festival of Books which is happening this weekend.
Students are to write poems over the break and complete work for the day of amnesty.

After writing down the agenda we went downstairs to meet with volunteers from Communities in Schools to go over our grades and see how we can do better. While we waited we worked on our test for The Book Thief.
Then we came back to class and continued our tests.
That was all we had time for today! Happy Spring Break!!!!

So today...... Thomas read his blog and then picked me >.< anyway.......Ms. Nakada told us to take out a piece of paper and write at the top ( call of words after "intro to poetry" by Billy Collins). Then she read it to us and asked someone else to read it, Layla read it to us again, then Wilbert. Then she said that she is going to read it again and she wants us to write down a line from the poem we liked or words we like. Then she told us she wants us to write a poem with the words or line we picked. Then she asked if anyone would like to read their poem that they made. Wilbert read his and it was good. Then she asked everyone to hold up the number of poems you've wrote. I wrote 7 so far ^.^. Then she asked us to take out our The Book Thief notes and we are going to do the questions. then they did a summary. the bell rung so bye!!!!! >.<.

Inquiry projects #1-3 due monday
Today ms.Nakada show us how to do the work cited page and review of how to finish our inquiry project which will be due on monday. She also showed us how to do the Illustrated annotated bibliography, you have to draw something and summarize what you've researched about on a piece on paper. Then, she gave time for us to finish our The Book Thief summary or work on our Inquiry project. The book thief summary should include 2 parts summary of part 9 & 10 of The Book Thief and 1 large part to summarize the whole book. That's about it so bye~

Today in Ms. Nakada's class Yvette (sorry that I don't know how to spell your name) read Anthony's blog and picked me. After that we went over Langston Hughes's poem, "Mother to Son." We talked about the tone of the poems and what gives it away to know the tone. We moved on from that to The Book Thief notes. Ms. Nakada got a little emotional about the book and could not read most of it, but she got through it like a warrior. Then, after we were done we finished up the summary for the book thief. It's time to go so good bye.
